Andrea Lauren is a print maker and textile designer. I have followed her work for quite sometime and now would really like to push my lino cutting skills. On her website she posts process videos and shows here prints from start to finish. A lot of her prints are a couple of colours and the blocks are arranged and cut to fit together differently. Some of the designs lay over each other, some are next to each other and some are simply repeated to cover the whole surface.
I was particularly drawn to this print. The blocks are simple but effectively create a scene from Amsterdam. I also like the combination of using the blocks to create an image and also using the to create texture. I could also use link cuts to create texted backgrounds for my cards as well as them being the main illustration on the card. Yet again I am drawn to the texture that Lino printing gives to the surface of the card.
